IRCTC Planning to Start E-catering Facility at 45 stations

The most popular e-catering service which is currently given at moving trains is now being extended to 45 stations by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).
The passengers will have variety of food to order from. The catering will be handled by leading private caterers.

This facility is station based that means you can order food on station not in trains your are travelling.

Many time the catering service have received complains on quality and cleanness of food. The catering service is working it’s best to provide the most hygienic food.

Apart from e-catering, IRCTC provides meals that are supplied by ‘Jan Ahaar’ (budget food), Food Plazas and Fast Food Units.

The e-catering service will allow passengers to order meals while travelling, either online at www.ecatering.irctc.co.in or by making a phone call to 0120-2383892-99 or the toll-free number at 1800-1034-139. They can also choose to do so through an SMS to 139 by giving details of their PNR and seat number.

To popularize the e-catering facility at stations, IRCTC will also develop mobile-based applications.

The station-based e-catering facility would be available for all trains passing through the 45 stations: Guwahati, New Jalpaiguri, Vishakhapatnam, Mughalsarai, Varanasi, Jaipur, Bilaspur, Kharagpur, Anand Vihar, H. Nizamuddin, Ludhiana, Secunderabad, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Chennai Egmore, Ernakulam [Kochi], Kozhikode, Thrisur, Yasvantpur, Nagpur, Pune, Agra Cantt, Gwalior, Jhansi, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara, Howrah, New Delhi, Chennai Central, Mumbai Central, Delhi, Bangalore City, Patna, Lucknow, Bhubaneswar, Madurai, Amritsar, Thiruvananthapuram Central, Kanpur Central, Allahabad, Chandigarh, Gorakhpur, Sealdah.

Interestingly since its dispatch in September a year ago, e-catering facility is being presented at stations. Starting now, this facility is being given in 1,516 non-storeroom auto trains. 
IRCTC will soon drift Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to guarantee investment of experienced experts and rumored natural pecking orders like KFC, McDonald, Haldiram, Bikanerwala, Nirulas, Sagar Ratna, Wangs Kitchen, Saravana Bhavan, Subway, Domino’s, Pizza Hut and Kelloggs. 
At least five sellers/brands per station will be shortlisted/empanelled by IRCTC to guarantee accessibility of a wide assortment of decisions at the stations. 
The new facility has been propelled as per the current year’s Railway Budget declaration for the dynamic dispatch of e-catering administration.
