This does not come as much of surprise since IRCTC is one of the biggest e-commerce portals in India. Millions of transactions are done daily, most of them through mobile phones. The IRCTC apps for various platforms allow a much easy route at making online bookings, and tatkal bookings through smartphones.
The applications are free on the Windows store, the Apple App store and the Google Play store. Be sure to check them out for you next mobile railway bookings. The app was quite useless at the time of it’s release, but overtime the application has been worked on to provide a much better experience. The application came on Windows Phone first, followed by iOS and Android. There is currently no official application for other platforms like Blackberry OS. IRCTC allows all it services from the app and accepts all payments, and quite recently Paytm wallet payments as well. Air ticket services are also provided.
