Train available from Howrah to Digha on 18-Sep-21, booked, then realised there is no return train from Digha to Howrah until 25-Sep. So, basically we go to Digha and spend 1 full week to return to Kol. This is ridiculous ! The cancellation fees is ridiculously high. I got ONLY rs 210 refunded from rs 1325 booking amount, eventhough I cancelled in 48 hrs. ABSURD-FRAUD-MALICIOUS policy. You guys have scammed my money. Pathetic IRCTC.
I understand that you are frustrated with the cancellation policy of IRCTC and the amount of refund you received for canceling your train tickets. However, please note that IRCTC’s cancellation policy is governed by the rules and regulations set by the Indian Railways and is applicable to all passengers who book train tickets through the IRCTC website or any other authorized platform.
As per the cancellation policy, if you cancel your train ticket within 48 hours of the scheduled departure of the train, you are entitled to a refund after deducting the cancellation charges. The amount of refund you receive depends on the time of cancellation and the class of travel you have booked.
While I understand that it may seem unfair to pay high cancellation charges for a situation that is beyond your control, it is important to note that IRCTC has to abide by the cancellation policy set by the Indian Railways. The policy is designed to ensure that the railways are able to manage their resources efficiently and to avoid any misuse of the system.
If you have any further grievances or complaints, you can contact IRCTC customer care and lodge a complaint. They will review your case and provide you with a suitable resolution.
