Solved: Money Deducted And Ticket Not Booked

Ticket Not Booked After Making Online Payment

Now-a-days, most of the railway tickets are booked online on IRCTC website. The tickets are booked by the passengers or through an IRCTC agent. Due to this there is
huge load and traffic on IRCTC website and sometimes, the payment is done to IRCTC and the ticket is not booked. And one more thing happens that neither payment is done to IRCTC nor ticket is booked and the money is deducted from passenger’s bank account.
Money Deducted And Ticket Not Booked
These problems occur as a result of poor payment infrastructure and huge load on various servers which process online payment. Another reason for such problems is that a large number of organizations are involved in this process of online transactions. IRCTC doesn’t guarantee of refunding your money back on time and to the respective bank accounts without making mistakes.
The online payment system of IRCTC is very much complex. It comprises of complex infrastructure between customer, bank, payment gateways and IRCTC. This system will work properly with a good internet connection only.
If the payment system doesn’t work properly then the transaction will be failed and the ticket is not booked. Due to this the money will be deducted from passenger’s bank account and the ticket is not booked. This creates two conditions which are as under:
Condition 1: Payment is done to IRCTC and ticket is not booked. The reason for this condition arising is due to non availability of the berth chosen by the passenger at the time of booking. Another reason may be loss of Internet Connection at the time of making payment.
In this condition, the bank credits the debited amount to the respective bank account of the passenger within 24 hours or within 2 to 3 working days.
Condition 2: Neither payment is done to IRCTC nor ticket is booked and the money is debited from passenger’s bank account. The reason for this condition arising is due to failure in Internet Connection or other connectivity problems arising due to congestion in the network. In this condition, no action is taken by IRCTC as no money is credited to IRCTC’s account.
As the amount is with the bank, after complete verification and further processing, the money is credited back to the passenger’s bank account.
Generally, the amount is returned back to the respective bank account as IRCTC assures of this thing and they handle all these matters very nicely. In some situations, it may take time in refunding the money. If this happens have patience and your money will be credited back. Don’t worry.
